Welcome to the Limerick blog.

Hello all,
I’m Daniel Moore your instructor for EN 1200 Composition, IS 1111 1st Year Seminar and fellow traveler. What I’d like you to do is to tell me a little about yourself and your interests. As for myself, I have a Ph.D. from Drexel University in Organizational Sciences and have been teaching here at PSU for 16 years. I read constantly and find myself drawn to history, biography, and social theory. When not on campus or pouring over some book, you’ll find me bicycling around the backroads of New England, Canada or Europe.

    Helllo,
I’m Errign & am from Plymouth, NH. I have lived in the area my whole life & chose to stick around because I love the mountains. I think the outdoor atomosphere & the chance to just get out & do stuff is awesome. I have one brother, who also attends Plymouth (part time) & am a ski instructor for the three and four year old ski groups at Waterville Valley resort. This upcoming winter will be my fourth season & I spend my summers running a scenic chairlift. As you can tell, I spend most of my free time outside, skiing, running, swimming, etc.

    Errign,
Good to hear from and about you. What’s your interest in Ireland?
    Daniel

  3. Errign Says:

Well, being nearly 100% Irish definitely plays the biggest part in my interest, wanting to know about my heritage, etc. Also, I really enjoy travelling & meeting new people so I figured, why not?

    Hi all,

I’m Elaine Allard. It was a pleasure to have the chance to speak with you at Orientation. I am very excited about the opportunity to help you on your research and any other library questions. My bachelors degree is from Plymouth State and my Masters from the University of Rhode Island. I grew up in Ohio, but have lived in New Hampshire for over 20 years. This summer I have been trying to improve my golf game. Any other golfers?

Hey, my name is Kyle Cwynar, I’m from Hyannis on Cape Cod. I work at Hyannisport Club aka maintenance at a golf course. I played football for my high school and I am one of those die hard Red Sox fans. I wanted to go to Ireland because I like to travel and have experiences that the ordinary person wouldn’t. If anybody has instant messenger talk to me “cwynman”, I’m also on Facebook.

  6. dmoore Says:

    Kyle,
Sorry to take so long to respone, but I’ve been out of town and out of touch. Do you play golf or only work on the course?
    Daniel

  7. KyleC Says:

Yes, we can play for free after 3 any day so a few of us usually go out and hack around.

  8. daniel moore Says:

    Kyle,
Have you checked these out: http://www.ebookireland.com/limgolf.htm
I’ve not played in years, but friends of mine tell me that Irish courses are some of the best in the world. Maybe we can get a foursome together.
    Daniel

    Kyle and Daniel,

Now you are making me jealous! I have just started playing again and hear the courses in Ireland are fabulous. Free golf is a good benefit to working at a course.

  10. KyleC Says:

That would be pretty fun as long as they have a few clubs kicking around we can use hah

  11. Kyle McGonagle Says:

    Hello,
I’m Kyle McGonagle from Merrimack, NH. I work as a software tester for Transparent Language in Nashua, NH. I am somewhat of a computer nerd. I am a music lover and I have recently starting learning the bass guitar, so I can’t wait to take in some of the local music in Ireland.

I want to go to Limerick because I have never been out of the States, and I want to take in and experience a different culture and country.

  12. Molly Smith Says:

Hey everyone! My name is Molly Smith from Durham, NH. I am from the wonderful town that holds UNH. I currently have two jobs, I work for Spinelli Cinemas in Dover and I babysit for two boys ages 8 and 10. I love music and LOVE the Red Sox. I’ve been to three games this summer one of which was vs. the Yankees.

I’ve been to Ireland before on a family vacation with my parents and older sister and loved it! We all had a lot of fun taking in the country and meeting the incredible people. I’m about 90% Irish and have always been intrigued by Ireland and was estatic to hear that PSU offered a chance to go freshman year.

  13. daniel moore Says:

I too have a strong Irish heritage. The first time I traveled to Ireland, it was like coming home. It felt, as if, I had some genetic predisposition to the place: tempature, tempo, and terriane were all familar to me, even though I had never been there before.

  14. Molly Smith Says:

When I was there I felt so comfortable, also like I was home.

  15. daniel moore Says:

    Kyle McGonagle,
I’m hoping that you’ll be able to help me with some of this computer stuff once we’re4 in Ireland. I’m somewhat technically challenged. I’ve been working on putting material on-line with some courseware that we have at PSU, and it has been frustrating.
